Lifestyle is inherently personal,

reflecting the unique tastes, preferences, and lifestyles of individuals. It’s an art form that goes beyond mere decoration, encompassing the creation of spaces that resonate with the essence of those who inhabit them. From the choice of colors and textures to the arrangement of furniture and accessories, every decision in interior design is a reflection of personality and identity.

Design is inherently fluid,

adapting to the diverse needs and lifestyles of its users.  Design continuously provides new ways to enhance functionality and efficiency without compromising style. Design transcends boundaries, seamlessly integrating form and function to accommodate the ever-evolving needs of its inhabitants. In this way, design is a dynamic problem-solving tool, offering bespoke solutions for the unique demands of modern living.

An informed artistic eye for the arrangement of space, special elements, color and scale infuse the dynamic personal spaces my clients enjoy living in. My focus is on curating distinctive spaces. My work blends and bends traditional styles with the use of bold color, hometown charm and global vibe providing inhabitants with spaces that are functional, fresh and uniquely their own.

My career began in the home furnishing industry as a visual merchandise designer laying out and coordinating hundreds of settings a year across six different cities. I was promoted to brand buyer where I traveled to international markets, considered offerings and assembled collections for a regional home furnishings brand.

Next I established a design firm in the no nonsense, fast paced international market of Houston. Client projects increasingly took me to distinctive destinations like Austin, Miami, Steamboat Springs,  Ft Lauderdale, Round Top, Chicago and  Wisconsin.

My design style is informed by the breadth and variety of these projects for clients in places where colloquial trends and traditions become intrinsic elements of living day to day in joyful spaces.

In the portfolio are interiors, original home designs, remodels, corporate and life events. In all this design work, my role is often as an inspirational conduit by which a client’s personal lifestyle vision can be translated and transformed.

How may I transform your vision?

Why atelier?

Atelier 27 was the name of my high school art club. For me this was my creative  beginning where I explored, imagined, and honed my design, project management and leadership skills while creating art while serving as our club president.

Ours was a community where vision and craft were fostered under the inspiration of Mrs. Gardner. The lessons and experiences gained in that environment influenced and inspired the evolution of my creative and artistic endeavors. It’s a way I pay homage to some of the influences that have enriched the work I craft and create.

Atelier is a french word meaning artist or designers studio. It just sounds alittle cooler. It’s a French word, so for fun, say it with an accent!

The variety of places and spaces my design work has served ranges from estate home to cozy cabin, corporate ballroom to  backyard, and one room makeover to whole home renovation including new home design from blueprint to doorbell!
There is no aesthetically functional space or event that does not benefit from well planned design. Composition is a superpower; from placing that family favorite to finding the perfect one of kind piece, making efficient the chores of lifestyle maintenance to holiday décor that dazzles and entertains.
Your home, condo, cabin, reception hall, backyard or yurt can look great for living, sharing or selling.

SOLUTION CONSULTING

Often thought of as providing information to a client, it’s more.  Solving a client’s problem means listening first, expertly diagnosing, practical achievable recommendations and professional assistance for implementation. Ultimately consultation builds consensus around a solution and the path to make it happen. For an hourly fee, we’ll talk through ideas, brainstorm solutions, provide sourcing and talk solution on all sorts of topics.

LIFESTYLE  DESIGN

The best spaces are truly personal and a best reflection of your lifestyle choices. Ultimately design is about making people happy; either functionally, emotionally or aesthetically. So, yes! My goal is to design your “Happy Place”. It starts with listening. Then, together, we move through the stages of design to find the most efficient, functional, and aesthetic solutions, while adhering to practical measures of budget, accessibility, and timeline

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

When it’s done right, it helps every part of your project run more smoothly.  Proper planning and management ensure work is delivered on time and within budget. Project management can map your project’s journey from the outset and know in advance where the deadlines — and projected spend — are going to fall, so you can more efficiently allocate your resources, helping you to avoid delays and project overspend.

Style means  being curious and having the confidence to choose what you love.

Design is about making people happy. Either functionally, emotionally or aesthetically.
